Rumor points to SimCity 5 reveal at GDC

Here’s one for fans of the longstanding SimCity franchise: German games magazine Gamestar is currently reporting that SimCity 5 will be formally unveiled during this month’s Game Developers Conference (GDC).

The possibility of Electronic Arts (EA) using the GDC platform to officially debut the latest SimCity entrant is supported by Twitter posts made by the third-party software publisher.

“More info! EA Maxis GDC announcement, huge event [with] special guests,” teased EA public relations boss Erik Reynolds in a recent tweet message to the masses.

That initial line was followed by a Facebook post in which EA tasked its fanbase regarding how best to work with the publisher in order to change the (gaming) world.

“Find out when EA hosts the Game Changers event at GDC,” outlined its social network page. “What would you do if you had the power to change the world?”

The annual Game Developers Conference will be held in San Francisco and kicks off on March 5. EA’s GDC live address is scheduled for March 6.
