Lionhead countdown clock promises big unveiling

Although Lionhead supposedly only has Kinect-based title ‘Fable Journey’ in the works for 2012, the sudden appearance of an intriguing countdown clock on its studio site suggests the developer may be preparing to reveal something else entirely.

The clock in question will tick down to zero on the launch day of this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco and arrives following the unveiling of a Lionhead job posting that suggests the crafting of an unnamed next-generation title.

Of course, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux—while a fan of fuelling gamer expectations—is a major supporter of Microsoft’s controller-free gameplay technology and, as such, the clock could just be a countdown to more information regarding the studio’s advances where Kinect is concerned.
