Guerrilla loses co-founder to EA’s Visceral Games

Bad news for fans of the hit Killzone franchise and developer Guerrilla Games: co-founder and technical director Arjan Brussee is quitting the acclaimed Dutch studio.

However, Guerrilla’s loss is evidently EA’s gain, as Brussee is joining the publishing giant’s Visceral Games studio as an executive producer.

For those not familiar with Visceral’s portfolio, the California-based outfit has risen to prominence in recent years after crafting the award-winning Dead Space survival horror series.

When asked by ControlOnline to explain why he has decided to up stakes and abandon his ‘baby’ in Holland, Brussee offered up the following:

“At some point your child is mature… The folks at Guerrilla are absolutely world class and can now only pick up further.”

Although highlighting that his time with Guerrilla always provided “something ambitious, new and inspiring” to channel his energies into, Brussee said he’s leaving to take on “a new personal challenge” that he hopes to find with EA and Visceral.
