Blizzard issues 100,000 more Diablo III beta invites

Dedicated, unshakable fans of everything Blizzard produces take note: If you’ve registered to be included in the ongoing Diablo III beta—but have yet not been added—Blizzard has this week unleashed a new batch of precious invites.

According to the renowned developer (World of Warcraft), it has issued a further 100,000 invitations to its upcoming adventure epic, which expectant fans may or may not find in their email inboxes and/or Battle.net accounts.

Those not lucky enough to receive Diablo III access this time around shouldn’t be too disheartened, said Blizzard, because yet more invitations will be put out in the not too distant future.

However, on a slightly darker note, the studio has (again) warned its fanbase to be mindful of fake invitations being dispatched by online criminals looking to Phish for potentially sensitive personal information.

“Some unscrupulous individuals send out falsified emails purporting to be from Blizzard, but are, in fact, meant to steal your login credentials,” it noted via its official blog.

“One easy way to ensure your invite is legit is to avoid clicking on links in any invite emails you receive, and instead log in to your Battle.net account and see if you have a Diablo beta license attached,” it added.

In order to help users identify these malicious emails, Blizzard advises a quick visit to the Battle.net Security Site.

Diablo III is expected to be ready for retail during the first half of 2012.
