Fresh Mass Effect 3 details emerge
A recent G4 TV report has revealed that new Mass Effect 3 team member James Vegas, a hard-hitting marine specialist, is to be voiced by Hollywood actor Freddie Prinze Jr.
Prinze Jr., who’s a self-confessed gamer and hardened fan of BioWare’s award-winning Mass Effect franchise, is perhaps best known for his roles in Scooby Doo, She’s All That, 24, Boston Legal and Friends.
“The thing with James, he’s a very no-nonsense marine and some of the inspiration came from an actual army captain,” explained Prinze Jr. regarding how he approached the character.
“He’s a very serious, very honest, very straightforward solider, and he puts emotions aside,” he added.
Beyond providing a little more focus on James Vegas, the G4 report also revealed that Mass Effect 3 is likely to provide fans with considerably more background on The Illusive Man and mystery organization Cerberus.
It also provided another tantalizing glimpse at Mass Effect 3’s gameplay and environments. This time we were treated to footage showing core protagonist Commander Shepard meeting up with original Mass Effect team member Liara T’Soni on the surface of Mars.
The footage also suggested that the creepy race of alien Rachni may also return and play a contributing role in the completion of Mass Effect 3’s narrative arc.
Mass Effect 3 will be released on March 6 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Games for Windows. A multiplayer demo is expected to arrive on February 14.
